Our Story
A Firm Built on Careful Work
Kettlevane was founded in Kuching with a straightforward ambition: to give East Malaysian businesses access to considered, honest operational consulting without the overhead of large firm engagements.
Back to HomeWho We Are
About Kettlevane
Kettlevane is a specialist consulting firm operating from Kuching, Sarawak. We focus on three core areas: supply chain evaluation, vendor relationship strategy, and procurement optimization. Our work is diagnostic in nature — we come in to understand, document, and advise, rather than to implement on your behalf.
The firm was founded by practitioners who had spent time working within operational functions at distribution and manufacturing businesses across East Malaysia. What they observed was a consistent gap: smaller and mid-sized companies rarely had access to structured operational analysis unless they could afford large consulting firms, whose engagements were often disproportionate to the problem.
Kettlevane was created to fill that space — bringing the discipline and structure of professional operational consulting to a scope that is appropriate for the organisations we serve.
Our Mission
What Drives Our Work
Our mission is to help Malaysian businesses understand their operations more clearly and make decisions from a position of knowledge rather than uncertainty.
We believe that most operational problems are solvable once they are properly mapped and understood. The difficulty, in most cases, is not the problem itself — it is finding the time and structure to look at it clearly.
Grounded in practice. Our methods come from operational experience, not academic frameworks applied from a distance.
Honest in scope. We take on engagements where we believe we can genuinely add value — and we are direct about the boundaries of what we offer.
Locally anchored. We understand the supply landscape, vendor dynamics, and logistical context of businesses operating in Sarawak and East Malaysia.

How We Work
Standards We Hold Ourselves To
These are not policies on a wall — they are practical commitments that shape how every engagement runs.
Written Scope Before Work Begins
Every engagement is scoped in writing before any billable work starts. Both parties understand what is and is not included.
Confidentiality as Standard
A mutual NDA is part of our standard engagement agreement. Client information does not leave the engagement without permission.
Regular Progress Communication
We provide structured progress updates at agreed intervals so you always know where the engagement stands.
Fixed-Fee Pricing
We do not charge by the hour. Every service is priced as a fixed fee, agreed before the work begins, with no surprises at the end.
Deliverable Quality Review
All final reports are reviewed internally before delivery to ensure findings are clearly documented and recommendations are actionable.
Continued Professional Development
Our team maintains awareness of developments in supply chain practice, procurement frameworks, and regional business regulations.
Operational Consulting for East Malaysian Businesses
Kuching-based businesses face a distinctive operational environment — one shaped by East Malaysian logistics infrastructure, the regional supplier landscape, and the particular ways that SMEs in Sarawak have grown and structured themselves. Generic consulting approaches often miss these specifics.
Kettlevane's work is grounded in first-hand knowledge of how supply chains, vendor relationships, and procurement practices function within this context. Our team has worked within East Malaysian businesses, not just consulted to them — which shapes how we observe, what we look for, and how we communicate findings.
Why Structured Operational Review Matters
Most operational processes in growing businesses develop organically — they work well enough to continue but carry inefficiencies that accumulate over time. Supply chains develop concentration risks. Vendor relationships drift without clear criteria. Procurement processes become inconsistent.
A structured review creates a documented baseline — a clear picture of how things currently operate, where the pressure points are, and what a more considered approach might look like. It provides a foundation for decisions rather than leaving them to intuition and habit.
